Preschool Assistant Director

Courtney Huffman is beginning her 11th year at Kids Connection Preschool. With over 20 years of experience in early childhood education, she has served as a teacher’s assistant, lead teacher, one-on-one aide, and preschool director. Courtney is married to her husband Damon, and together they have three children: Connor, Skylar, and Liam. She enjoys cheering on her kids’ sports, spending time with family and friends, and cozying up with a good book and coffee.

Kaiya Collins has been part of the Kids Connection Preschool team for two years. She has seven years of experience working with children in grades K–5 through the YMCA Kid-Zone before- and after-school programs and also serves in Victory City Church’s youth and kids ministries. Kaiya earned an Associate’s degree in Digital Media Production from Joliet Junior College and plans to study Elementary Education at St. Francis University in 2026. She enjoys reading, fitness, and spending time with loved ones.

Carley Scott is joining Kids Connection Preschool as an assistant this year. Over the years, she has helped in different classrooms and finds joy in supporting children’s growth and learning. Carley and her husband are proud parents of three children who attended Kids Connection, and she is excited to be part of nurturing the next generation in faith and academics.

Sandra May serves as a lead teacher at Kids Connection Preschool. She has always had a heart for children and finds joy in helping them learn and grow. Sandra is married to her husband Daniel, and they have two children, Matthew and Sarah. She believes every child is a gift from God and is passionate about guiding them in faith and learning.

Beth Harkness continues her work at Kids Connection Preschool, bringing years of experience in early childhood education. She graduated from Victor J. Andrew High School and earned her degree in Early Childhood Education after interning at Walt Disney World. Beth and her husband Dan are raising four daughters—Natalia, Leona, Susanna, and Daniela—all of whom attended Kids Connection. She enjoys spending time with her family, attending their activities, and playing games together.

Skylar Schweinberg has over eight years of experience in children’s ministry and three years working with infants through pre-K as both an assistant and lead teacher. She graduated early from a Pennsylvania charter high school and earned a T.E.A.C.H. Scholarship to study Early Childhood Education. Skylar is passionate about nurturing children in body, mind, soul, and spirit, and enjoys singing, baking, cooking, antiquing, and family time.

Janice Schutter has been part of the Kids Connection team since 2017, currently serving as a lead teacher. She and her husband, Ken, have long served in Kids Ministry at Victory City Church. Together, they have three children—Ken Jr., Brittany, and Sarah—two bonus children, Cate and Nick, and a granddaughter, Kennedy. Janice treasures spending time with her family and values the relationships she builds with children and parents in the program.
